Issue: Regulatory Reform
To: Jim Schnurr, Chief Accountant, SEC and James R. Doty, Esq., Chairman, PCAOB
Filing Type: Regulatory
Description: The CCMC believes that businesses must have a strong system of internal controls and recognizes the vital role external audits play in capital formation. CCMC believes that this is the result of a lack of a dialogue between the business community and the PCAOB. Accordingly, the CCMC would respectfully request a meeting of stakeholders, the PCAOB and SEC to discuss these issues, explore ways to address them, and create such a dialogue on a continuous basis in order to promote effective controls and an appropriate exercise of judgment to enhance investor protection, capital formation, and competition.
